Frequently Asked Questions

Head to app.gathertocraft.com and sign up with email or a social provider (Discord, Google, or Twitch). You’ll need to verify your email before your first sign-in. See Creating an Account.

Yes, go to Settings → Account and edit your display name. It follows Minecraft username rules: 3–16 characters, letters, numbers, and underscores only.

Yes. Settings → Security → Delete account. You confirm with your password and then with a confirmation email. After that, your profile, listings, feedback, and uploads are gone permanently.

2FA is an extra login security layer: after your password, you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app. Enable it under Settings → Security. We strongly recommend it.

I see a device I don’t recognize in my sessions

Section titled “I see a device I don’t recognize in my sessions”

Go to Settings → Security → Active sessions and revoke it. Sessions show the browser, OS, and IP address, so you can spot anything unusual. Revoking signs that device out immediately.

What does verifying my Minecraft account do?

Section titled “What does verifying my Minecraft account do?”

It proves you own the account you say you play on, and unlocks: a verified checkmark, 5 open listings (up from 1), 20 pending applications (up from 5), gallery uploads, and a Minecraft skin avatar. See Linking Your Minecraft Account.

Join verify.gathertocraft.com in Minecraft Java Edition (1.8+), note the 6-digit code shown, and enter it in Settings → Security → Minecraft.

I changed my Minecraft name. How do I update it?

Section titled “I changed my Minecraft name. How do I update it?”

Click Sync Username in the same card. It’s limited to 3 syncs per 24 hours, so wait until your name change is settled.

You’re at your open-listing limit: 1 for unverified accounts, 5 for verified. Close an existing listing (it stops being counted) or verify your Minecraft account to raise the limit.

You can only have 5 (unverified) or 20 (verified) applications pending at once. Accepted, denied, and withdrawn applications don’t count, so check Dashboard → Applications and withdraw any you no longer want.

Uploads require a verified Minecraft account. See the verification steps above. It takes two minutes.

Gallery activity is capped per day: 25 uploads, 100 likes, and 30 comments. The counter resets daily.

What’s the difference between a listing and a group?

Section titled “What’s the difference between a listing and a group?”

A listing is a recruitment post that attracts players; a group is the persistent community those players join. Every listing belongs to a group, and acceptance into a listing makes you a member of its group.

Can I join a group without applying to a listing?

Section titled “Can I join a group without applying to a listing?”

Yes, if an owner or admin invites you (they need your email address). Accept the invitation from the group page, the Groups page, or your dashboard Action Center.

Only group owners and admins. If you’re not in a group yet, you can create one as part of creating your first listing.

Group owners and admins edit the Game Server card and enter the IP and port. The platform then shows live online/offline status, player count, version, and MOTD. The address can be changed up to 5 times per hour. See Game Server.

Link your Discord account in Settings → Account, join the GatherToCraft Discord server (discord.gathertocraft.com), then turn on Discord DM notifications in Settings → Notifications. You can also choose which types of notifications go to Discord, and turn the master toggle off anytime.

Check that (1) your Discord account is still linked, (2) you’re a member of the GatherToCraft Discord server, (3) the master Discord toggle is on, and (4) the per-type toggles for the notifications you expect are on. In-app notifications keep working regardless.

That’s up to you. Public profiles are visible to everyone, including logged-out visitors and search engines. Members profiles are visible to signed-in users only. Change it in Settings → Account → Privacy.

No. Email addresses are only used for sign-in, verification, and notifications. Profiles show your display name, avatar, and the information you choose.

Pending: awaiting review. Dismissed: reviewed, no violation found. Actioned: reviewed, action was taken. Track all of them at Dashboard → My Reports.

No. Reports are confidential, and legitimate reports help the community. Just don’t abuse the system by reporting content that doesn’t violate the guidelines.

You’ll see it under Dashboard → My Warnings with a link to the offending content and a message from moderators. Warnings can come with reputation penalties; repeated violations escalate to content removal and bans. See Warnings.
